Story Doodle #1

Why do you think the boy is crouching on the rock in the stream? How did he get there? What do you think might happen next? Write about it!

Be sure to use your imagination and add details that make the reader feel like he or she is there.

Describe the sound of the stream.
What would you smell?
How do you think the water would feel?
What about the sunshine or the breeze?
Are other people nearby? What about animals?

I believe everyone has a story to tell. Let your story (or poem) out!

In the News

The first and second books in The Time Bridge Travelers series are running in newspapers around the country as part of the Newspapers in Education (NIE) series. They're perfect for classroom use (when the first book ran in the Houston Chronicle, Houston ISD used it as a supplement to the summer school program). Visit Laid-Back West to learn how to bring The Time Bridge Travelers to your newspaper!
