If I've visited your school, then you've seen my messy rough drafts and doodles. You know that I like to get my ideas down while they're still fresh in my mind, and then do the many, many edits and revisions later. So what are Story Doodles? Bits of ideas. They may take the form of a photograph or a snippet of my writing, or even a song.
You can see all of the past Story Doodles story starters for kids here!

You will need the free Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer to be able to open the file.
This Story Doodle is an UNFINISHED poem, and I'd like your help finishing it! I scanned a page from one of my notebooks (hope you can read my messy writing) and you can take what is there and turn it into your own poem.
If you want me to read it, e-mail it to me, along with a permission slip in case I choose to feature your poem on my web site. I will only be able to publish a few Online, no matter how good they are, so be sure to share your poem with your family and friends and keep on writing. Remember, everyone has a story or poem to share!

The first and second books in The Time Bridge Travelers series are running in newspapers around the country as part of the Newspapers in Education (NIE) series. They're perfect for classroom use (when the first book ran in the Houston Chronicle, Houston ISD used it as a supplement to the summer school program).
