Books, Story Starters for Kids, & Writing Incentives

This is the web site for kids who love to read and write (or for adults who want to share that love of reading and writing with the special kids in their lives). Although I'm not scheduling any more author visits or writing workshops for the 2008-2009 school year, I still want to share the joy of reading and writing with kids everywhere.

Need a little help with your writing? These special #2 pencils will give you the confidence you need to do your best on school writing tests and assignments, and will also remind you to come back to this web site for story starters and writing tips. Teachers may want to get enough for the whole class!

Writers tend to write the kinds of things they like to read. I like silly poems, books that are fun to read aloud, and exciting adventures and mysteries. Part of the excitement of writing The Time Bridge Travelers is learning about the places and times where the Wilson kids will travel. Facts from my research are listed in the back of each book, so you can learn about those places and times, too.

Read excerpts from all of the books in The Time Bridge Travelers series. This is what Children's Bookwatch had to say:

'The Time Bridge Travelers' by Linda Ayers is a series of deftly crafted fantasy adventure stories for young readers that hold the distinction of each individual title being able to be read and enjoyed independently of the others. Available in both hardcover and paperback editions, this outstanding and imaginatively written series is enhanced with illustrations by Ryan Ayers.

In the News

The first and second books in The Time Bridge Travelers series are running in newspapers around the country as part of the Newspapers in Education (NIE) series. They're perfect for classroom use (when the first book ran in the Houston Chronicle, Houston ISD used it as a supplement to the summer school program). Visit Laid-Back West to learn how to bring The Time Bridge Travelers to your newspaper!
